I'm educated, driven, independent, stable (though my passionate side fights it), and a variety of other general terms. I've been through enough to have a decent sense of who I am and what I'm looking for. I am, however, unable to decide whether I want to be bearded or clean-shaven on any given day (hopefully you can appreciate both). As it turns out, I'm also apparently from another planet entirely, asI just don't understand the concept of watching sports. I also think cable television in general is weird and at least slightly crazy (it's just sensory overload, but I do enjoy a good show and will watch one on DVD). I'm very much into music of all kinds (today, for example, is John Lee Hooker day while yesterday was Shiny Toy Guns day). I like ideas. A lot. And I tend to read, listen to NPR programs, and even get excited about public lectures (ya, nerd alert). But I'm careful not to take intellect too seriously. I tend to bring a lot of laughter to a relationship. And I find that a really good connection is when you can walk through something as mundane as a grocery store together and end up in stitches, having the best time. Despite this penchant for laughter, I'm a bit cynical but not really ("Behind every cynic is a disappointed idealist"). I'm also fiery and unafraid to get in a lighthearted argument (politics, anyone?). This is probably because I'm Italian, which also means I enjoy talking with my hands from time to time. Speaking of being Italian, I have a remarkable family, and they are very important in my life. I enjoy wine, but I'm not a wine snob. I love gin martinis. And I appreciate a good restaurant, preferably with a live band (I'm all about atmosphere). I don't do the bar thing. So if you are a bar or pool hall kind of girl, we probably won't work. I love being at the ocean, talking for hours (ya, this either sounds sappy or existential, but whatever. I like getting to know people on a deeper level, whenever possible. that's where the interesting stuff is). And I'm known to spontaneously hop in the car and drive to places that are out-of-the-way. A night in with wine and candles is also very nice (add some Frank Sinatra or Ella Fitzgerald, and we're really talking), but that requires chemistry. I love uniquely aesthetic events like Cirque Du Soleil. I've been thinking of taking up hiking.
